What is InsureMe Quick Quote?
We're South Africa's first personality-based insurance comparison platform. We use scientifically-validated personality assessments combined with your financial data to recommend insurance coverage that matches your unique needs.
Is InsureMe free to use?
Yes! Our assessment and comparison service is completely free for consumers. We earn a commission from insurance providers when you purchase a policy through our platform.
How long does the assessment take?
The assessment typically takes 10-15 minutes to complete. It's divided into 5 sections: Personal Info, Financial Info, Assets, Current Insurance, and Risk Profile (personality questions).
Personality Assessment
Why do you ask personality questions?
Research shows that personality traits (especially conscientiousness and neuroticism) are strong predictors of insurance needs and risk tolerance. By understanding your personality, we can recommend coverage that matches your natural risk profile, not just generic guidelines.
What is the Big Five personality model?
The Big Five (OCEAN) is a scientifically-validated model that measures five core personality traits: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. It's used by psychologists worldwide and is the most reliable personality framework.
Is my personality data private?
Absolutely. Your personality scores are stored securely in our database and never shared with third parties. Insurance providers only see your recommended coverage needs, not your raw personality data.
Insurance Coverage
How do you calculate recommended coverage?
We use industry-standard formulas combined with your personality-based risk profile. For life insurance, we consider: (Monthly expenses × 12 × 20 years) + Total debts + (R500k per dependent for education). We adjust these calculations based on your risk tolerance and financial stability.
What insurers do you work with?
We compare quotes from major South African insurers including Clientèle, 1Life, OUTsurance, Hollard, and Old Mutual. All are FSB-registered and have strong claims-paying histories.
What types of insurance do you offer?
We currently compare: Life Insurance, Funeral Cover, Car Insurance, Home Insurance, and Disability Cover. We're working on adding Medical Aid and Short-term Insurance (business insurance) soon.
Application Process
How do I apply for insurance after getting my results?
After completing your assessment, you'll see personalized quotes from multiple insurers. Click 'Get Quote' on your preferred option, and we'll connect you directly with the insurer to complete your application.
Do I have to speak to a salesperson?
Not unless you want to. Most applications can be completed entirely online. If you prefer human guidance, we can connect you with a licensed advisor who will explain your options without any sales pressure.
How long does it take to get covered?
For simple policies (like funeral cover), you can be covered within 24 hours. Life insurance typically requires a medical questionnaire and takes 3-7 days. More complex policies (disability, large life cover) may require a medical exam and take 2-4 weeks.
Pricing & Payments
How much does insurance cost?
Premiums vary based on your age, health, coverage amount, and insurer. As a rough guide: Funeral cover starts at R150/month, basic life insurance from R300/month, and car insurance from R400/month. Your personalized results will show exact estimated costs.
Can I change my coverage later?
Yes, most policies allow you to increase or decrease coverage. Some policies have medical underwriting for increases (you'll need to answer health questions), while others allow inflation-linked increases without additional medical checks.
How do I pay my premiums?
Premiums are paid directly to your chosen insurer, usually via monthly debit order. We don't handle payments ourselves - you pay the insurer directly.
Data & Privacy
Is my information secure?
Yes. We use bank-level encryption (TLS 1.3) and store all data in secure, POPI Act-compliant databases (Supabase). We never sell your data to third parties.
What data do you collect?
We collect: Personal info (age, gender, marital status), financial data (income, expenses, debts), personality assessment responses, and basic metadata (anonymized IP address). All data is used solely to generate your insurance recommendations.
Can I delete my data?
Yes, absolutely. Under the POPI Act, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. Contact us at privacy@insuremequickquote.co.za to request deletion.

Yes! Click the 'Chat with an Advisor' button on your results page, or email us at support@insuremequickquote.co.za. We're happy to walk you through your recommendations at no cost.
What if I disagree with the recommended coverage?
Our recommendations are guidelines based on your assessment, not requirements. You're free to choose any coverage level you prefer. We show you the reasoning behind our recommendations so you can make an informed decision.
Can I retake the assessment?
Yes, but we recommend waiting at least 30 days. Personality traits are relatively stable, so retaking too soon may not yield different results. However, if your financial situation has changed significantly (new job, marriage, child, etc.), a new assessment makes sense.
